This'll Be Short.

Hey, guys! And gals! And ones inbetween or non-specified!

This post will be short, seeing as I am about to leave for a barbecue and I don't have much time or a topic.

Umm.... the contest is still going on, and if you haven't entered I think you should! :D

I start school next Thursday, so be prepared...

Yeah. All I've got. Gotta go, and enter that contest! Be the first! :)

Books!

Heyo! Olive here! This shall be a small post as I have not only forgotten to make this post (shame on me) but also forgot what time it was! I was going to post some pictures but I'm not sure if I'll have time so for now let's talk about books!

I went to Goodwill today. Which I don't really like but when your family doesn't have much money that is the store you are stuck with. Plus it does help that I don't know many name brands. Anyways, I ended up with a pair of jeans, 2 shirts and 3 books!

  1. Eragon
  2. The Lovely Bones
  3. That Summer
I've read both Eragon and The Lovely Bones but not That Summer. The author of That Summer is Sarah Dessen and she is an amazing writer. Dreamland (also by Dessen) is by far one of my favorite (and unowned) books, as well as Just Listen. Both are amazing and beautifully written!

Christopher Paolini, author of The Inheritance Cyble (Eragon) is also an amazing writer! He was only 15 when he published Eragon AND it started out as something he had self-published! This kid is amazing! He takes a simple (or not so simple!) set of characters and brings them to life! He creates a world so magical you can get lost in it for hours! And that is something I love about books. And if the writer can pull it off then welcome to my world of favorites!

I've only read one book by Alice Sebold. The Lovely Bones. And I must say! She is amazing! It is such a thrilling novel~ Told from Susie's point of view from heaven, you not only get a taste of life above but of life after the death of a loved one. I found the book to be inspiring and if you haven't read it I encourage you do so!

In fact I encourage you read Eragon as well, plus Just Listen and Dreamland as I have yet to read That Summer. No images tonight but I will have some up this weekend! Hope you all enjoyed this and have a good evening.

P.S. What are some of your favorite books? Do you have any you'd recommend for me or Cossy to read? Of course we both have a huge different taste in books.

Dude. I am SO not ready for this.

By the way, how do you guys like the new digs? Designed them myself. :)

So. I start school in eight days. I'm not too thrilled about this, but whatever.

THAT'S NOT WHAT I'M NOT READY FOR!

I'm not ready for Camp! Camp NaNoWriMo! No! August! I can't! I'm too busy!

I'm running a blog, co-running another, getting ready for school, friends want to see me this week, I have three scarves that I have to make before the cold season, and keep the house clean and just so much stuff!

I know, compared to most people, that isn't very much. But for me, a person who is very laid back and doesn't hurry to do things and doesn't have a lot of plans most of the time, this is a lot. And I'm going to have to get used to that. Going to have to get used to managing my time accordingly.

Camp came way too fast. I know what I'm going to write for Camp, but I'm not sure if I'm actually going to make it this month. Again.

It all comes back to time. And time management. Set a little bit of time each day aside for writing, some for crocheting, a bit for blogging and managing the blogs, updating my tumblr, actually getting some outside time, reading, and all of that other important stuff. I just have to set my priorities straight and do whatever is right.

Time is merely an illusion, and yet we continue to allow it to control our lives.

Think about that, dear readers.

Good luck, and happy writing.

First Year Anniversary!

Olive here~ *cough* Sorry we haven't posted in so long. A lot has happened since, what, January?
For example, we've reached our *cough* blogs one year anniversary! I know we keep mentioning when we started the blog, but I must say, a YEAR is a long time! July 16th was the day we started, and here it is the day before August 1st! I'm impressed! I didn't think we'd get very far!

Cossy deserves a lot of the credit. She's kept this blog running while I've been out of it. I've been eh, sick, you could say, off an on since about Novemberish, and Cossy has kept this place running either way. You all have her to thank!

We are also nearing our 100th post! I'm sure we're going to do something exciting for that!

Also, with school starting soon, Cossy and I won't be posting as much as we'd like, but hopefully I'll be able to get at least a few posts done in the coming weeks. I have had one photography outing that had some great outcomes that I can't wait to share with you guys, and I also had my first wedding event. I'll be showing you guys pictures from that in parts, so be looking for news on that here soon!

Here is a sneak peek on future posts from me! look for posts with Wedding Event or Downtown Event in the label section.

A Bit About Me. (Revamped)

It's been a long while since Olive and I started this blog (as I'm writing this, my brother and his friend are calling me a hipster -_-). I've changed a lot since that one day I met a girl on a writing site and found out that we both liked to write and take pictures, so we decided to add one more flimsy little page to the huge book that is the Internet.
I've started and ended many hobbies since, and interests have come and gone. Like photography. I haven't been taking many pictures lately. I haven't been writing lately, either.

Okay, that's a lie. I did June NaNoWriMo. Halfway. Sort of. I got almost ten thousand words into a brand spanking new, fresh, different-than-my-norm idea, and I faltered. Haven't written since. Well, blog posts. But not actual writing. I haven't been doing much of anything, lately. Updating my other blog, and my tumblr. It's summer vacation for me, so I'm doing what students on vacation do best: absolutely nothing. Been watching the Olympics with my brother. Pretty rad opening ceremony, eh?

I also learned how to crochet, and now I have about six scarves to make. Yay. Now I'll do a bit more about myself.

Name: Costello Shields.
Age: Unknown.
Height: Shorter than a basketball player, taller than a Hobbit.
Weight: How DARE you!

Favorite Movies: The Avengers, Thor, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Captain America, The Spiderman Trilogy, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, All of the Pirates of the Carribean, the Batman Trilogy (saw the new one on Sunday - it rocked), um... Alice in Wonderland, both new and cartoon. Can't think of any more. Oh well!
Favorite book(s): ...Are you really asking that question? There are too many to even count!
Favorite Author(s): Man. I am just FULL of stupid questions today.
Random facts about myself:
  • I start school again soon, so I might be blogging less.
  • I'm also doing August Camp NaNoWriMo.
  • Camp will be hard, with school and all of my crocheting.
  • I have a dog, two cats, and three goldfish.
  • I'm a Hufflepuff, according to Pottermore.
  • I agree with Pottermore.
  • I have a Pottermore.
...And that's about it! Hopefully this will tide you guys over until Olive and I figure out what we're going to do about this ramshackle of a blog. (No offence, Olive.)

    Whoa. Again.

Hey, all! It's been a very long time, hasn't it? Wow. My sincerest apologies.

Both Olive and I have been busy, with life mostly. To be honest, we completely forgot about this blog! I'm really glad I decided to hop on today, because apparently this blog still gets views, and people comment! (You know who you are. :) ) So, I apologize again for our very long absence, but I have talked with Olive and she has agreed to start this ol' thing back up again! Lots of things may change, so be prepared. Thank you to everyone who has looked at our little blog, and may have liked it. You're awesome!

P.S.; I have a blog I update more often than this, if you'd like to check it out!
