TWO ROADS Cover Reveal!

Hey guys! I know it's been awhile since we posted last, but I think I was just doing that to build up suspense! ;)

This is the first time we've ever done anything like this, so I'm nervous and excited! About a month ago, I did a Q&A with my friend L.M. Augustine, who wrote Click to Subscribe, and now he has a new book coming out in August called Two Roads! Here is the blurb for it:

"The only person poetry-loving Cali Monroe hates more than herself is Logan Waters, the geeky kid who lives in the dorm building next to hers.

Ever since Cali's parents told her she would amount to nothing, she has felt entirely inadequate. Friendless and alone, she takes on the mean girl role in hopes it will make her feel better--and Logan serves as the perfect target. He infuriates her with his obnoxiously long lashes, his all too perfect dimpled smile, and his complete lack of personality outside of his intelligence. It doesn't hurt that he's part of the reason her brother is dead, either. So Cali hates him, and he returns the favor. Thus, their prank-filled, insult-driven rivalry is born, and torturing Logan quickly becomes the highlight of her life.

But when Cali's parents set them up on a blind date, she begins to realize Logan might not be as boring as she always thought. He shares her love of poetry, takes a sadistic pleasure in making fun of crepes, and he makes her blush when he calls her smile pretty.

And hey, maybe those long lashes of his aren't that obnoxious after all…

Two Roads is New Adult Romance about finding love, standing out, and learning to embrace who you are. It contains some language and mild sexual content."

DO YOU GUYS KNOW HOW EXCITED I AM FOR THIS BOOK??? I AM REALLY EXCITED AND IF YOU'RE NOT EXCITED AFTER READING THAT DESCRIPTION THEN I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY YOU'RE NOT EXCITED.

Okay. Calm now. Are you all ready for the cover?

I flailed to death when I saw it.

I mean, it's pretty freaking great.

The person who made it did a really good job.

A+.

Okay I'm just stalling. READY. THREE. TWO. ONEEEEEE

BAM! Isn't it beautiful?! Wowie. What a cover. What a story. What a guy. L.M. is who I want to be in my next life. You can add this book on Goodreads here, and you can add L.M.'s first book, Click to Subscribe, there! Reminder! Here are the places you can find him:
Hope you guys enjoyed this, and I'll see you next time! :)

Q&A With L.M. Augustine!

Hi guys! Costello here. I recently talked with a friend of mine, a newly published author. Allow me to introduce to you L.M. Augustine! His debut novel Click to Subscribe hit the e-book shelves in May. I asked him a few questions about his book and writing.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What encouraged you to start writing?

L.M. - I always loved reading and so one day, I just decided to go for it and start writing my own stories. It took me a while before I began writing seriously, but there was no trigger for me other than waking up one morning and deciding it was time to finally write a full novel. So it was reading other people's books that encouraged me to write my own.

How old were you when you started writing?

L.M. - I think I was about six! I wrote a story about an epic battle between fruit and vegetables at the time (don't ask) and it was awful, but it was tons of fun to write.

Do you have any writing role models?

L.M. - I have always been a fan of authors like John Green and Cornelia Funke, and just recently I've been inspired by Colleen Hoover as well!

How does it feel to be a published author?

L.M. - Well, I was hoping it would give me superpowers, but that didn't happen. It feels great, though. It's nerve-wracking, but it's a totally amazing feeling to know you have a book out in the world and some people are reading and enjoying it.

What do you do to deal with Writer's Block?

L.M. - I just take a break. I used to try to fight through it, but it only made both my writing and sanity suffer, so nowadays I either take a break from writing the book for a few days or I skip to the next scene and come back later. It has worked well!

Tell us about Click to Subscribe, your first published novel.

L.M. - The blurb is:

135,789. That’s how many subscribers sixteen-year-old West Ryder has on his web vlog series. But he only has eyes for one of them.

As one of the internet’s most prestigious video bloggers, West talks about high school relationships under the name “Sam Green.” As far as he knows, no one from school, not even his best friend, Cat, has seen his videos. But the highlight of the whole thing is Harper Knight, who comments every day at exactly 2:02 in the afternoon. He doesn’t know anything about her aside from the occasional deep philosophical messaging on why pizza tastes so delicious, but as stupid as it sounds, he might be falling for her. So when they finally agree to meet in real life, West’s hope for romance seems more and more in reach. But that all changes as soon as he arrives at their meeting spot and sees Cat walking toward him, wearing the same “I *heart* Sam Green" T-shirt Harper promised she'd have on.

To his alarm, West realizes he is falling in love with the best friend who has always been a sister to him.

How long did it take you to write Click?

L.M. - Only a few weeks, actually! I'm a naturally fast writer and Click just flowed. It took me a month afterward to do revisions and everything, of course.

Do you find you write better during the day, or are you a night owl?

L.M. - I'm a total night owl! People say you're more creative when you're tired, and it totally rings true for me.

Do you have any tips for young writers?

L.M. - Start off writing a book or so purely for yourself. You don't want to rush to try and get your work published right away, and I've found that writing some books just for yourself helps you hone your craft and learn about both your stories and writing your abilities. Then, once you write a book you feel especially confident in, get critiques on it, maybe query agents if you want to go that route, and slowly work toward whatever your ultimate writing goal is, publication or something else. Basically: don't rush it. Do what works for you.

Do you have any tips for writing romance?

L.M. - I'd say don't try to force it. Romance in real life shouldn't be forced and neither should it in books; make sure you have a natural progression and the characters' romance feels true to themselves and to the story.

What do you hope to get out of your writing?

L.M. - Ideally, I'd like to make a living out of it--doing what you love as a job sounds pretty incredible--but for now, I'm just so happy to be able to write the stories I love and have a few people who want to read them, too.

Do you write while listening to music? If so, what are your favorite noveling tunes?

L.M. - Yes! I love Gone Gone Gone by Phillip Phillips.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And there you have it, folks! Thank you Liam for doing this, he's absolutely wonderful! Also, I've read Click, and it's a really great read. You can find his blog here, his Twitter, his Facebook page, and his Goodreads page for Click!

He's selling signed print copies as well, for $9.99 + $3.99 shipping (USD), but he's only got twenty at the moment, so hurry!

We're also helping out with the cover reveal for his next book, Two Roads, a NA fiction, so stay tuned for that! ;)

Hope you all enjoyed this! We may do more, if we find more authors. Until then!

I'm going on an adventure!

Hey guys! Costello here. Sorry for our absence! I don't really have an excuse for it, except that we've just been procrastinating... I may have been playing Minecraft.

Anyway! I'm going on a trip! Yep! A friend of mine and her family invited me to go with them to the beach for a week! We're gonna stay in their RV, so that should be fun. ^_^

I'm really excited because I've never been where we're going before, and it'll be the longest time I've been away from home! I know, that's lame, but this is a super big deal for me. I'm also staying with people I haven't stayed with before, so I'm just going to experience all sorts of new things! Amongst other things, I'm bringing my camera, so there will be a lot of pictures (I promise!), and I'm bringing my journal and my ukulele for maximum levels of fun.

That means that I, unfortunately, won't be posting. Hopefully Olive will! I'm so sorry we've been slacking on posting, guys. We're really trying to get this blog on a constant roll. It's just taking us awhile.

In other news, July Camp NaNoWriMo is just around the corner! I'll be gone for a whole week, so that may take away from my writing and planning time, but I think I'll be able to handle it. I think I'm going to re-write the novel I wrote back in November. Y'know, shape it up, flatten it out, put in chapter breaks.

Are any of you guys doing Camp? If so, leave a comment telling us about it! Are you nervous, scared? Do you have that "I can do this, no problem!" attitude? Do you even know what you're going to be writing?

And if you're not doing Camp, I suggest you sign up!

That's all from me today, guys. Have a wonderful weekend, and I'll see you July 1st! :)

What I've Been Doing Lately!

Hey guys! Cos here. I know I said we'd be back soon. And we are! It's just... taking us longer than we thought. One of the main things was we thought Camp NaNoWriMo was in June. It's actually in July. >.<

I decided to post today and let you guys know what I've done lately!

Well, I got out of school on the 31st, and that means it's only day six into summer vacation! I'm already bored. But I'm going to try and do ALL the things this summer! I'm planning on crocheting more, knitting more, learning more ukulele songs, learning the guitar, learning French, and learning how to draw better, among other things!

I don't know if I told you guys this (I did on my other blog though), but I bought myself a ukulele! I named him D'Artagnan. :) I'ts going really well, and I'm proud of myself for not giving up. I also crocheted a jellyfish for my friend who was graduating high school! I didn't get any pictures though. :( The pattern I used is here if you would like to make it as well! (I would absolutely love to see pictures if you guys did make one! Send them to our email random_bloggers43(at)yahoo(dot)com)

I'm also making more progress on my scarves! If you didn't already know, back in December I think it was, my brother, two of our friends, and I created accounts on Pottermore and took the House quiz! My brother got Ravenclaw, I got Hufflepuff (we're particularly good finders), and our friends got Gryffindor and Slytherin! I had just begun to learn how to crochet at the time, so I told them that I would make us all house scarves. I'm almost done with Gryffindor!

To be honest, I have been procrastinating an awful lot.

When I was younger, I expressed an interest in playing guitar, so my uncle bought me one. I never used it, and I still feel bad. So, this summer, I'm planning on learning how to play! I did pretty well with the ukulele, so I think I'll be able to get guitar down. :)

As for French, why not? I'm using a site called Duolingo, and it's really cool! I'm learning a lot, and it's really simple and user friendly!

THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS I WANT TO DRAW BUT I SUCK AT DRAWING SO I WANT TO GET BETTER.

I also want to read a lot more this summer. Because I've got the time. :)

Are any of you on summer vacation right now? Do you still have school, or are you out of school entirely? What are some things you've always wanted to do/learn? I look forward to reading what you guys have to say in the comments! :)

DFTBA,
-Costello

Oh, Goodness!

I'm so sorry guys! It's been so long since we've posted! I'm so sorry. I've been a bit busy, and if you follow us on Twitter, you would have seen (probably) that Olive isn't with us anymore. She's gone through a few things, and now she can't blog anymore. I'm still working with her on a way for her to still blog, but it's taking a while.

But never fear, for Costello is still here! I'm going to tide you guys over with a short story I wrote awhile back. Enjoy! Or not. You know. Whatever.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a lonely, quiet, grey day when he came. I wasn’t expecting it at all. I had woken up in my normal way, gotten dressed and fed the turtle the same way as all the other days before. I guess what was special about today was that it was Christmas here in London.

I was alone in my flat this year. All of my family had gone to Prague, leaving me here because I couldn’t afford it. I had no significant other, and no friends or other family here. I had moved from Bath to London just after I finished high school and was about to start college.

I decided to go out for coffee. I don’t know what pushed me to do it, but something in the air told me that I would like a nice Christmas-y themed frothy drink from Starbucks.

As I was walking out of the coffee shop, I looked at the corner and saw a man in a brown suit leaning against a blue box. Our eyes caught, and I dropped my coffee. He winked and walked into the TARDIS, leaving it slightly open.

I had nothing to do today. So why not travel with a 900-year-old alien?

I ran towards the box, a huge smile on my face. I made it just in time to hear the TARDIS make its signature sounds.

It’s going to be a good day, I thought to myself.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because who doesn't love a bit of Doctor Who, eh? I'm going to be working on a few posts the rest of this week, and most likely post them next week. Sorry for such a delay! Thanks for being patient!

Thanks, Guys.

So, no one entered our contest. Thanks.

Oh well. YOU GUYS MISSED OUT ON THE AWESOME PRIZES.

Sorry we haven't been blogging lately. Our Olive isn't going to be around as much, some stuff happened that I won't go into detail with, but I think I'll be running the show for a while here now.

We've been busy. School and such. Plus! NaNoWriMo! It's currently day fifteen, at the halfway point! I'm at 16.5k, which is rather far behind. See what missing one day of writing does to you? :(

So after November, I'm sure I'll be posting a lot more, and since I moved, and I found the batteries for my camera, I'll be taking more pictures of new landscape things!

But I've got to go, more writing to do.

P.S., Are you doing NaNo? Leave a comment on how you're doing, what your wordcount is, what you're writing about, etc.

Oh, and if you want to do a guest post about what NaNoWriMo means to you and what your best ways to get through it are, or something like that, email me at random_bloggers43(at)yahoo(dot)com!

Happy Writing!

Three things.

Olive here!
First off – Our 100th post Contest winner is – here. You can view the winner’s entry – here.
Second - I have been working on a small project that I’d like to share with you guys if you’d like to be a part of it. It’s a 20 day long process, and its writing related. Pretty much, for each day there are three sentences, and 3 sense cards. (From – The Writer’s Toolbox) I'll post the three sentences, what they are for, the 3 cards, here for you if you'd like. Your job is to write something based on either all three sentences, or all 3 cards, OR write something based off of all the items that will be listed. I'll try to make everything set up ahead of time for you guys, and I'll post for the first 5 days, and if you guys like it then, leave a comment and I'll add the other days! Once we're out of days, and you guys still (oh wow) want to keep getting promotes, then be sure to leave some comments on some theme ideas for each day! I would really need the help by that point in time!
Third - Cossy and I one an award 0_0 From this lovely blog, and unfortunately I don't have time to do everything the award requires, so I shall do it tomorrow and post it for you guys! Thank you by the way for dealing with our absents! Cossy and I both are very busy with a new school year! Once we get used to everything we will be back up with the posting! Which will hopefully be very soon!
Night!

Dude. I am SO not ready for this.

By the way, how do you guys like the new digs? Designed them myself. :)

So. I start school in eight days. I'm not too thrilled about this, but whatever.

THAT'S NOT WHAT I'M NOT READY FOR!

I'm not ready for Camp! Camp NaNoWriMo! No! August! I can't! I'm too busy!

I'm running a blog, co-running another, getting ready for school, friends want to see me this week, I have three scarves that I have to make before the cold season, and keep the house clean and just so much stuff!

I know, compared to most people, that isn't very much. But for me, a person who is very laid back and doesn't hurry to do things and doesn't have a lot of plans most of the time, this is a lot. And I'm going to have to get used to that. Going to have to get used to managing my time accordingly.

Camp came way too fast. I know what I'm going to write for Camp, but I'm not sure if I'm actually going to make it this month. Again.

It all comes back to time. And time management. Set a little bit of time each day aside for writing, some for crocheting, a bit for blogging and managing the blogs, updating my tumblr, actually getting some outside time, reading, and all of that other important stuff. I just have to set my priorities straight and do whatever is right.

Time is merely an illusion, and yet we continue to allow it to control our lives.

Think about that, dear readers.

Good luck, and happy writing.

Random bit of something.

My legs feel like lead and I fall to my knees.
I grab Adaline's lighter and I hold it up.
I close my hand around it to keep the air from blowing it out.
I watch it flicker in the dark.
Watch it fade as I close my fingers over it.
Feel the heat hit my skin.
Feel the pain of yestarday fall away.
I switch spots more than once.
On both hands.
I close the lighter and look down at my palms.
They are mirroring the image of my heart.

My Turn!

My writing post for today! It took me a long time to come up with an idea, but I finally got one. Hopefully.
------------------------------------------------------------

"Okay, how about these: Noble, blue, elegant, and sports?" my friend Olivia says, looking up from the laptop in her lap. I sigh and lay down on my bed, my laptop next to me. The four words run through my head, trying to find other words that can piece them together to make some sense. I sit up with a single sentence in my head.
"A queen in an elegant blue dress shot someone at a rugby match. How does that sound?" I picked up my laptop and opened Word, which would most likely just sit there, untouched, while I cruise some other site. Olivia laughs and starts typing away at her keyboard. "I know, I'm not making any progress," I mumble, setting down my laptop and springing off my bed.
Olivia puts down her laptop as well and stands next to me, stretching her cramped legs. "You know," she says, looking at me with half of a serious look on her face, "you do have to come up with something soon. It is your day, and you don't want to keep those hungry viewers waiting for very long. One of them could be some super-genius and use your IP to track you down with a bunch of angry villagers with pitchforks and torches." She grinned at me and walked past, hopping loudly down the stairs.
I slipped on my slippers and slowly shuffled after her, mumbling to myself, "Yeah, the few viewers we actually have.
Later that day, she did finally come up with an idea, but it was rather short. For that girl, ladies and gentlemen, was me about a half-hour ago.

---------------------------------------------------------------

That's ma post! Don't hate! Okay, have a good day/evening/morning/ whatever everyone!

Befriend or not to befriend.

I look outside and see girls. Blonde haired, brown haired, they are just like me. They laugh and talk. I sit in my room, watching them pass as they look like me, but are nothing like me. I sit upstairs, at my desk, typing away, trying to think through this program. I listen to my music, while they listen to the wind and each other’s voices.

They are beautiful. Simple, but so much prettier than I am. I look down at my clothes and back at theirs. If I walked down stairs and out my door, they’d stare at me. My red shorts from soccer last fall, my all star’s shirt. I look like some girl that runs a lot, and likes it.

They will probably see me around the corner, but they won’t stop to get to know me. They already have each other, why add someone else? They are already perfect, why add someone who isn’t to their group of perfectness?

Would you?

If you were in a group, and saw a girl or boy your age, watching you all alone, would you go over and introduce yourself? Or would you walk away?

Thinking about it now, even though I’m not part of anyone’s fancy groups, I know I probably wouldn’t. I’m already shy, already took me forever to befriend the friends I have, why ruin it by adding someone who looks so out of place? Why risk everything for someone who could be the one you should have met. That kid could have been one of your best friends. But you walked away.

Now I didn’t stop them, as they laughed their ways home for dinner. I didn’t introduce myself. Instead I watched from above as they walked farther away. Maybe they’ll come back one day, when I’m outside, and don’t have a choice but to say hi. Maybe someone will see me outside one day and the next they’ll come over. As they walk away, I don’t feel forgotten, abandon, but I do feel alone. So I turn my music up louder, listen to my best friend’s voice on my phone, asking for prayer. I spin in my non-spinning chair and hope I meet someone mighty soon. Can’t spend forever working on absolutely nothing.

I mean I could, but who would want to do that?

-Olive
