Poetry!

No, sorry, not my poetry. I don't write poems... >.> Except when I was like seven I wrote a poem about socks. Maybe that'll be revealed later. ;)

No! But today I'm going to share with you lovely people one of my favorite poems, and also because I can't think of anything else to post about. xD

"It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love –
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsmen came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulcher,
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me –
Yes! – that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we –
Of many far wiser than we –
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling – my darling – my life and my bride,
In the sepulcher there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea."

Three things.

Olive here!
First off – Our 100th post Contest winner is – here.You can view the winner’s entry – here.
Second - I have been working on a small project that I’d like to share with you guys if you’d like to be a part of it. It’s a 20 day long process, and its writing related. Pretty much, for each day there are three sentences, and 3 sense cards. (From – The Writer’s Toolbox) I'll post the three sentences, what they are for, the 3 cards, here for you if you'd like. Your job is to write something based on either all three sentences, or all 3 cards, OR write something based off of all the items that will be listed. I'll try to make everything set up ahead of time for you guys, and I'll post for the first 5 days, and if you guys like it then, leave a comment and I'll add the other days! Once we're out of days, and you guys still (oh wow) want to keep getting promotes, then be sure to leave some comments on some theme ideas for each day! I would really need the help by that point in time!
Third - Cossy and I one an award 0_0 From this lovely blog, and unfortunately I don't have time to do everything the award requires, so I shall do it tomorrow and post it for you guys! Thank you by the way for dealing with our absents! Cossy and I both are very busy with a new school year! Once we get used to everything we will be back up with the posting! Which will hopefully be very soon!
Night!

This is a rather special post.

It was about a year ago, on July 16th, that Photography43 and Costello_Shields decided to create a blog together.

Then, they had other ideas of what this blog was going to be like. The two of them discovered that the other liked to write and take pictures, but at the beginning it was just a photography blog until one of them decided to integrate some writing into the picture (pun intended).

Things have happened. Posts have been missed, templates have been changed, hiatuses have been long and un-postful, and then there were joyous reunions and wonderful readers. These two bloggers have gone through many words and pictures, and they would like to thank everyone who has been there from the beginning, and those of you who might've just found the blog today. They couldn't have made it to 100 posts without their wonderful viewers.

Thank you, and Happy 100th Post.

    Books!

    Heyo! Olive here! This shall be a small post as I have not only forgotten to make this post (shame on me) but also forgot what time it was! I was going to post some pictures but I'm not sure if I'll have time so for now let's talk about books!

    I went to Goodwill today. Which I don't really like but when your family doesn't have much money that is the store you are stuck with. Plus it does help that I don't know many name brands. Anyways, I ended up with a pair of jeans, 2 shirts and 3 books!

    1. Eragon
    2. The Lovely Bones
    3. That Summer
    I've read both Eragon and The Lovely Bones but not That Summer. The author of That Summer is Sarah Dessen and she is an amazing writer. Dreamland (also by Dessen) is by far one of my favorite (and unowned) books, as well as Just Listen. Both are amazing and beautifully written!

    Christopher Paolini, author of The Inheritance Cyble (Eragon) is also an amazing writer! He was only 15 when he published Eragon AND it started out as something he had self-published! This kid is amazing! He takes a simple (or not so simple!) set of characters and brings them to life! He creates a world so magical you can get lost in it for hours! And that is something I love about books. And if the writer can pull it off then welcome to my world of favorites!

    I've only read one book by Alice Sebold. The Lovely Bones. And I must say! She is amazing! It is such a thrilling novel~ Told from Susie's point of view from heaven, you not only get a taste of life above but of life after the death of a loved one. I found the book to be inspiring and if you haven't read it I encourage you do so!

    In fact I encourage you read Eragon as well, plus Just Listen and Dreamland as I have yet to read That Summer. No images tonight but I will have some up this weekend! Hope you all enjoyed this and have a good evening.

    P.S. What are some of your favorite books? Do you have any you'd recommend for me or Cossy to read? Of course we both have a huge different taste in books.

    Dude. I am SO not ready for this.

    By the way, how do you guys like the new digs? Designed them myself. :)

    So. I start school in eight days. I'm not too thrilled about this, but whatever.

    THAT'S NOT WHAT I'M NOT READY FOR!

    I'm not ready for Camp! Camp NaNoWriMo! No! August! I can't! I'm too busy!

    I'm running a blog, co-running another, getting ready for school, friends want to see me this week, I have three scarves that I have to make before the cold season, and keep the house clean and just so much stuff!

    I know, compared to most people, that isn't very much. But for me, a person who is very laid back and doesn't hurry to do things and doesn't have a lot of plans most of the time, this is a lot. And I'm going to have to get used to that. Going to have to get used to managing my time accordingly.

    Camp came way too fast. I know what I'm going to write for Camp, but I'm not sure if I'm actually going to make it this month. Again.

    It all comes back to time. And time management. Set a little bit of time each day aside for writing, some for crocheting, a bit for blogging and managing the blogs, updating my tumblr, actually getting some outside time, reading, and all of that other important stuff. I just have to set my priorities straight and do whatever is right.

    Time is merely an illusion, and yet we continue to allow it to control our lives.

    Think about that, dear readers.

    Good luck, and happy writing.
